Online Privacy Statement
Provident Community Bank's commitment to protect your information and your privacy extends to your online banking. While our privacy policies are the same, whether you are online or not, we have extra measures in place to protect your privacy when you bank online with us.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
All personal information collected and stored by the bank is used for specific business purposes, to protect and administer your personal accounts and transactions, and to comply with the state and federal banking regulations. Collection of personal information online is designed to assist the bank in providing you with the products and services you want and need.
If you use our Online Banking or BillPay programs you may receive "cookies" which contain your unique identifier, allowing you to view and manage your accounts. These cookies may be linked to personally identifiable information. "Cookies" are messages a web server (i.e. webpage) gives to a web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer software) that contain information that is stored on the customer's computer and sent back to the server when the customer's browser requests pages from the server. "Cookies" are used for example in providing customer convenience by storing passwords and logon IDs so customers do not have to enter the information every time, to customize pages for the customer based on information contained in the "cookie", and to track customer activity on the Web Site for later use in providing good customer service and new products. Making the appropriate selection from your browser options can disable "cookies". However, please understand that certain services provided by The Bank such as Online Banking, or our Bill Pay program may require "cookies" for effective delivery of the program. The Bank will treat all "cookie" information confidentially and will use only as allowed by law, as stated in our Privacy Policy, or as authorized by you. Employing stringent security measures in the collection of your personal information, Provident Community Bank's online application utilizes encryption via a security protocol called a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Implementation of the SSL security protocol on the Web server and customer browser ensures authenticated data has been received from the client. In addition, firewall technology is in place to provide further access controls.
Children's Online Privacy Protection
The online financial services offered through the Bank's website are not designed for or directed toward children under age 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect data from children and we do not knowingly market to children online without express parental consent or notification. If we receive online information from any child we will use the information to respond directly to a child's request. We recognize that protecting children's identities and online privacy is important and that responsibility rests with us and with parents. If you believe your child has provided personally identifiable information to us, please contact us so we can allow you the opportunity to review and delete such information.
